To Better Serve Requirements of Students with Special Needs

That BCCPAC lobby to have increased funding allocated by the Ministry of Education to better serve the requirements of students with special needs. This additional funding would be directed towards:

• increasing specialized itinerant support for classroom teachers and teacher assistants who have mainstreamed students to consistent standards across BC,
• promoting programs and the instructional strategies which enable the development of best practices for the creation of Individual Educational Plans (IEP), and
• ensuring consistency and better communication of the best practices among the students’ support teams.
