BCCPAC Elects New President at Annual General Meeting

 
RICHMOND, MAY 4: Delegates to the 2008 annual general meeting of the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils elected the following new board members.

President
Ron Broda
School District #63 (Saanich)
2nd Vice-President
Laurey-Anne Roodenburg
School District #28 (Quesnel)
Director
Suzette Miller
School Distict #41 (Burnaby)
Director
Stephanie Longstaff
School District #62 (Sooke)

Kim Howland will become past president, which is a non-voting board position. Leaving the board will be Lori Tedrick, 2nd Vice President, Jim Yurkowski, Secretary, and Directors Terri-Lynne Huddlestone, and Margaret Lipke all of whom have been very active in representing the voice of parents provincially.

The newly elected members of the board of directors will join Cheryl McCann, Treasurer and Steve Baker, Director  who are currently beginning their second year of their two year term. The new board members will take up their positions June 3, 2008.

Broda formerly held the position of 1st Vice President  and Roodenburg was formerly a Director. Their election to their new positions and the resignation of secretary, Jim Yurkowski, will result in a future by-election to fill the positions of first vice president, director and secretary to the board of directors.  

The AGM minutes and the disposition of resolutions will be available shortly. The AGM Minutes Approval Committee must first approve the minutes.
