BCCPAC Board of Directors 2010 - 2011

 
President, Ann Whiteaker
SD #61 Greater Victoria 
Ann has been actively involved in all school levels: elementary, middle, and high school, as well as the district level. Formally First Vice President for BCCPAC, Ann is looking forward to an active and busy year at BCCPAC as we continue to support our membership and reach out to the Education Partners to support student success.

 

 
Treasurer , Jennifer King
SD #68 Nanaimo- Ladysmith 
Jennifer joined the Board as Treasurer as of July 2010. She is happy to be a part of BCCPAC after graduating from the Parent Information Resource (PIRC) Program. Jennifer enjoys volunteering for things that effect her children and now that her 3 boys are all in school, (ages 7, 9 and 16) she felt BCCPAC was the perfect fit. Jennifer is looking forward to the new challenges ahead that are part of being involved in a province-wide organization.



 
 

 

Secretary Dana Arthurs

SD #79 Cowichan valley

Dana was formally appointed secretary in 2009 and elected to this position at the 2010 Annual General Meeting. She has been an active parent leader in the BC public school system for 19 years and has been the PAC chair at her 2 daughter's schools.  She is also the current DPAC chair for Cowichan Valley.  Dana brings a strong passion and enthusiasm for parent leadership and BCCPAC.

Director Deborah Garrity

SD #41 Burnaby

Deborah Garrity is the winner of the 2009 George Matthews Award for Excellence in Parent Leadership. She has served on the PAC Executive of elementary and secondary schools as well as on numerous district and provincial committees.  Deborah was DPAC Chair for a number of years when she was elected to serve on the BCCPAC Board.  This will be her second year of a two year term.

Director Steve Baker

SD #39 Vancouver

Steve has been elected to a second two year term as a Director. He has been actively involved as a PAC member since 2001, serving as a PAC Chair for four years and on the DPAC for the last five years.

Director Hollie Tarasewich

SD #68 Nanaimo

Hollie was elected to this position at the 2010 Annual General Meeting.  After a ten year career in retail sales, Hollie is currently a stay at home mom caring for her two kids, one of which is a special needs child.  She had been active in her PAC and is a DPAC Vice President.  She is a parent representative on both the Districts Community Link Committee and on the board for the Education, Business and Human Resources Committee.  She looks forward to being a greater advocate for parent leadership.

 Director Liz Therres

SD #23 Central Okanagan

Liz was elected to this position at the 2010 Annual General Meeting. She is a mother of three children, covering the gamut of the schools system, from elementary through high school.  She currently works part-time at a local grocery store.  Liz is an active part of her community's education system at the PAC level, district level and now at the provincial level.
